Nicola Borgmann studied art history and architecture in Munich, London and Rome. As director of the Architekturgalerie München she has organized and designed the exhibitions and events of the gallery since 1992. Programmatic work, curatorial conception, exhibition design, fund raising and accompanying press work are among her core competencies. She is responsible for numerous art and architecture exhibitions, as well as for the organization of symposia, lectures, book and film reviews, discussions, and art in public spaces. Among others, she develops projects for the Architekturgalerie München, the Technical University Munich, the Goethe Institut, and the City of Munich. Nicola Borgmann also compliments her professional work through teaching assignments and lectures at national and international universities. Since 2009 she is Member of the "Deutsche Akademie für Städtebau und Landesplanung" DASL. In 2011 she was awarded the Bavarian Architecture Prize Bayerischer Architekturpreis "For Nicola Borgmann's special commitment, that made the Gallery of Architecture Munich to one of the most important institutions of Germany for contemporary architecture, art, urban planning and related topics."
